September 2022, a preparation to the trip to Mussomeli (Italy)

After class, the students who will be going to Mussomeli in Sicily are preparing a poster for a future presentation on the different forms of outdoor education and their relationship with the environment.

Hereinafter, Giovanni, Jeremy, Alexia, Sarah, Martine and Mrs. Wellington (from Liège, Belgium) working in the school library. They based their work on an activity combining science and geography, a study of rivers and the elements that help to explain and counter the risks of flooding.

Outdoor education workshop - Onil - July 2022

In July 2022, several teachers from the partner schools met in Onil, Spain, to work and share their practices around teaching outdoors and understanding the environment.

A varied programme had been put together by the teams at IES La Creueta, including a visit to the Albufera, a visit of Valencia, several immersions in the school's educational practices (environmental education in Tabarca, an immersion in local culture,
a visit to plant gardens, an encounter between mathematics and history in the town of Onil), and so on.

The meeting also enabled the group to make progress in coordinating the project and to make the most of the season of festivals that bring the villages and towns of the region to life.

An inspiring workshop and a memorable week.

Coordinators meeting in Samsun, Turkey 30th May-1st June 2022

From the 30th May to the 1st of June, coordinators from the participating schools received the warmest welcome at Derecik Sehit Yasin Boy school in Samsun. We used these three days to organise the way we are going to use etwinning to collaborate in the framework of our project and the next student mobilities.

Besides that, we also had the chance to meet the lovely students of the school, participate to some artistic activities (most notably Ebru painting, a traditional Turkish paper marbling technique), attend a traditional Black Sea dancing performance, visit the city of Samsun and the wonderful Sahinkaya gorges. A very intense three days.

First student exchange in Onil: more than a month later... video call reunion

On Friday 20th May, we held a videocall reunion to watch together a clip about the trip in Onil made by the Turkish team and play a quizz about the trip and our different countries. A lot of fun... and emotions!

First student exchange in Onil, Spain, 27th March-2nd April 2022- Part 9: Visit of Onil

Hello! My name is Elias. I am describing the visit of Onil on Friday morning. So we started at 9:20 am. As you can see it was cloudy.

After about 10 minutes of walking we arrived at a market in the center of the town.

There we could buy some churros, fruits, vegetables and sweets. I bought some sweets and they were really delicious.

Then we went to a little castle where there were pieces of art and other old things such as weapons and costumes for the ”festes”, festival that takes place each March. The guide explained us the history of the town and why there was this procession.

After that we went to a place where they stocked dolls and playmobils made in Onil. Some dolls were scary like the last one.

We ended our visit by going to the doll factory where they explained us how they made the dolls step by step for example, when  they took them out of the oven...

Well, this is the end of our trip in Onil. I enjoyed this whole week and I’m sure I will never forget my stay there.

#besttrip

I miss you all.

Elias

First student exchange in Onil, Spain, 27th March-2nd April 2022- Part 8: The beach

We arrived at Alicante and we visited the city, at 3:20 pm we arrived at the beach with all the group we were really excited and happy. We played  in the sand and some people went in the water but they didn't stay a lot in the water because it was really cold . Some people put some towel on the sand and did something like a picnic - a lot of people had brought something to eat like crisps, biscuit, salted sunflower seeds. After, some people started to play a sort of snow ball fight but with sort of round dry plant that had fallen from palm trees, but some people just wanted to relax. Around 4:30 pm all the teachers arrived and drank a coffee on a terrace and took pictures of the moment. At the end, we waited for the bus to come take us and we were all really tired. For me it was the greatest day of the trip because we did a lot of things and played a lot.
